This course is sold off-site at PTontheNet.com
Author: Dr. Christian Thompson, Ph.D.
Accidental falls are one of the most concerning health-related issues for older adults. Over 25% of older adults fall in the United States every year and result in the highest number of accident-related deaths for the older age cohort, outpacing automobile accidents by a substantial margin. In fact, recent research has indicated that the rate of falls-related deaths is actually accelerating since the turn of the millennium. This course will review contributing factors for falls as well as assessment and programming strategies to decrease the risk for falls in older adults.
